CAASNM’s Family Empowerment pillar assist families to become informed self-advocates by providing programs and services that allow them to become engaged in the community and improve their economic quality of life.
Free computer literacy classes allow clients to get their hands on technical training so that they can learn basic computer skills, including applying for jobs. CAASNM believes that these skills are vital for our community members to become and continue to be successful in their journey towards self-sufficiency.
Financial Literacy classes teach clients the importance of saving and other financial decisions across life stages. Financial literacy is vital to the work of helping clients build self-reliance.
Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) and Children’s Savings Accounts are also administered by CAASNM to instill habits of saving for major lifetime goals, such as purchasing a home, starting/expanding a business or pursuing education.
Free tax preparation occurs each year during tax season. IRS trained and certified tax preparers at CAASNM offer free tax preparation services in English and Spanish.
Business Development, specifically Small and Rural Business Development, is another core to CAASNM’s mission. The Small Business Development Program supports and grows existing rural small businesses.
Workforce development ensures that participants gain the skills they need in order to be successful members of the modern workforce.
