Support

As a locally-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit providing services to southern New Mexico for over 50 years, Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico (CAASNM) is a stable and trusted organization that directly addresses the causes and conditions of poverty in our communities. It does so through intensive programs that are sensitive to the multi- language, cultural, and generational make-up of the families we serve. Your support of our services creates positive change in people’s lives, and helps all members of our community to truly thrive.

Your donations are tax-deductible to the extent provided for by current IRS regulations, and we always suggest you consult with a tax professional as you plan your gift. If you have any questions about the information that follows and would like to speak to someone directly about our donation opportunities, please contact Dawn Hommer, CEO, or Mark Hohnstreiter, Development Officer, at 575-527-8799.

Key Programs

Some special CAASNM especially needing your support are these:

Kids Can Youth Entrepreneur Program—providing area youth with business, leadership, and personal enrichment by encouraging their own small business development.

Children’s Savings Accounts—giving participating kids a match as an incentive to save real money and learn life lessons about saving and finance.

Coats for Kids—C4K distributes over 3,000 new and gently used coats for children in Las Cruces and rural areas of Doña Ana County. Your gift this year (2021) will be matched by the Carl C Anderson Sr. and Mary Jo Anderson Anderson Foundation.

Where needs are greatest—CAASNM serves over 11,000 families a year in five counties. Your unrestricted gift can help them all on the path to greater self-sufficiency.

If you wish to designate your CAASNM gift to one of these programs, please indicate on your contribution or inform us of your intent.
