Kids Can, a CAASNM program which brings out the entrepreneurial spirit in area youth, has been awarded a Nusenda Financial Education Innovator Award. Sara Keller, VP for Community Engagement at Nusenda Credit Union, says that the award was made “for the incredible work . . . the team at Las Cruces Kids Can has been doing in southern New Mexico teaching at-risk kids valuable life skills in money management, business development, entrepreneurship, and financial responsibility.” The award carries a financial award which will be used by Kids Can to expand outreach. “CAASNM is proud to have Kids Can among its family financial empowerment programs, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit among disconnected youth” said Dawn Z. Hommer, CEO of CAASNM.
