Position Summary: The Lead Parent Educator/Home Visitor acts as a liaison between parent educators and supervisors. In addition to carrying a .75 or less caseload, this role involves mentoring and coaching other parent educators/home visitors, supporting program supervisors and managers in ensuring program fidelity and compliance with relevant standards, contributing to overall program development.
License Requirements: Valid NM or TX Class D driver’s license and must be insurable. Applicants must be able to drive a company vehicle during work hours when one is available. If applicants use their own vehicle they will be reimbursed for mileage.
Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree with relevant experience and trainings.
Experience: Preferred to have at least two years of experience working in a Parents as Teachers home visiting program equivalent experience in an Early childhood setting. Able to ensure Model Fidelity as an Affiliate of Parents as Teachers in both Foundational I & II Curriculum programming implementation.
Skills/Abilities: Self-motivating, while working under the general supervision of the managing supervisor. Ability to work with people from all cultural and economic backgrounds. Strong written, oral, organizational, workshop facilitation and public relations skills. Ability to work successfully with all partners and stakeholders. Strong reporting, organizational, and case management skills are needed. Ability to engage with diverse populations in both English & Spanish.
Job Description: The Lead Parent Educator/Home Visitor will work directly with the Program Supervisors who oversee a team of Parent Educators/Home Visitors. The Lead will work as a liaison between Parent Educators/Home Visiting staff and the Supervisors/Managers program. In addition to supporting the supervisors in overseeing the team, the Lead will be required to carry a .75 caseload, directly serving families in compliance with New Mexico Home Visiting and Parents as Teachers (PAT) standards and guidelines. This role involves providing support to the team to develop safety plans, connecting families to referrals and resources, and establishing short-term and long-term goals that align with families’ aspirations for success and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management & Support:
- Leads will support the Program Supervisors in managing and providing ongoing support to the Home Visiting team, ensuring adherence to PAT and New Mexico Home Visiting standards.
- Guide the team to establish safety plans and goals with families to help them achieve their desired outcomes.
- Monitor the team’s timely assessments of developmental growth, including required screenings and evaluations in line with program guidelines.
2. Program Oversight & Development:
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure the team adheres to program requirements and best practices.
- Create and manage short- and long-term schedules for collaborative events like Group Connections, Family Workshops, and other community-specific training initiatives.
- Ensure services meet the unique needs of families, considering their diverse cultural influences and child-rearing practices.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of PAT National Essential Requirements, New Mexico Home Visiting Standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with Supervisors, managing supervisors and Directors in completing program reports, such as (but not limited to) quarterly CQI reports.
- Regularly audit and report staff data to ensure contract compliance, specifically within the timelines outlined by Scope of Work.
4. Collaborate with Supervisors, managing supervisors and Directors to develop and implement program procedures and ensure operations run smoothly.
5. Staff Development & Supervision:
- Leads may support supervisors in providing regular, typically weekly/biweekly administrative supervision sessions with home visiting staff (alongside or in lieu of Supervisor).
- May support in ensuring clear communication of program updates and notices with team members.
- Participate in reflective supervision sessions for the team and individually comply with contract standards.
- Participate in all mandatory meetings, such as staff meetings, ECECD monthly data meetings, quarterly CQI meetings, and encourage staff to follow meeting protocols and actively engage.
- Train new hires and facilitate the onboarding of new hires along with Supervisor, Managing Supervisor and Associate Director.
- Guide staff in completing annual professional development plans.
- Encourage and model attendance of training courses and other professional development opportunities for home visiting staff.
- Conduct field supervision (alongside or in lieu of Supervisor) to ensure staff performance aligns with job responsibilities and program goals.
- Conduct regular audits of family files and the program database for home visiting staff along with Supervisor or in lieu of Supervisor.
- Lead Parent Educator/Home Visitor may participate in any other staff development or supervisory activities along with or in lieu of Supervisor.
6. Administrative & Record Management:
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all records by maintaining secure storage of staff, family, and financial documents in a locked location.
- Lead Parent Educator/Home Visitor may manage any other administrative duties in lieu of Supervisor.
7. Community Engagement:
- Promote CAASNM’s mission, services, and programs within the community to raise awareness.
- Represent CAASNM at required training sessions, meetings, and conferences as mandated by CAASNM, ECECD, or the PAT National Center.
- Home Visiting Supervisor may assist in planning and facilitating Parent Group connections and other program/company events.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary to ensure the successful operation of the Home Visiting Program.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to travel for training, meetings, and conferences as required.
