Position Summary: Home Visiting Licensed Midwife will provide the Home Visiting team and families prenatal and postnatal training and technical supports with an emphasis on maternal and infant well-being. Direct services to families will be required.

License Requirements: Valid NM or TX Class D driver’s license and must be insurable. It is preferred that applicant uses their own vehicle, and they will be reimbursed for mileage. Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife certifications must be current.

Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in Midwifery

Skills/Abilities: Self-motivating, while working under the general supervision of the Director. Ability to work with people from all cultural and economic backgrounds. Strong written, oral, organizational, workshop facilitation and public relations skills. Ability to work successfully with all partners and stakeholders. Strong reporting, organizational and case management skills are needed.

Job Description: Support Parent Educators serving families by providing training and technical support in the area of maternal and infant health and well-being. Accompany Parent Educators on home visits. Provide direct prenatal, postnatal or other needed services to families some of which may be billable to Medicaid.  Work within the framework of New Mexico Home Visiting and Parents as Teachers standards and guidelines. Monitor developmental growth with required screenings and assessments with respect to the program requirements. Attend trainings that meet the needs of community-specific demographics and program. Oversee each individual family’s case and their diverse cultural influences that inform how they raise their children and pregnancy needs. Maintain awareness of Parents as Teachers National Essential Requirements and the New Mexico Home Visiting Standards and within compliance of HIPAA regulations. Participate in regular reflective supervision for staffing and self in compliance of contract standards. Maintain records of families served and other administrative tasks as needed. Must be able to travel to trainings, meetings, conferences as recommended and/or required by CAASNM, ECECD, and PAT National Center. Develop guidelines, procedures and policies relating to incorporating Midwives into the Home Visiting program. Extensive travel within Doña Ana County is required. Promote community awareness of the CAASNM mission, services and programs. Complete any other duties deemed necessary.
