Position Summary: Recruits new CACFP Providers, and monitors the provider’s home to assure compliance with the USDA and NM Dept. Early Childhood Education and Care rules and regulations. In the areas of Hatch, Deming, Silver City and Lordsburg.

License Requirements: Valid NM Class D driver’s license required. Must maintain insurability with CAA insurance to continue employment.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Prior experience with public, desirable but not required.

Skills/Abilities: Ability to interact with the community, recruit, and monitor CACFP providers, understand state and internal policies, work well with others-especially women and children, effectively communicate orally and in writing, and work independently. Strong attention to detail; Desire to excel; Bilingual preferred, but not required, must be willing to travel.

Job Description: Uses approved means of advertising to inform the Community of available programs and recruit potential CACFP Providers; determines client’s eligibility for inclusion in the different programs; Trains new providers in CACFP guidelines, menu, and attendance sheets completion. Collects required paperwork for all programs; Monitors newly approved and on-going homes for CACFP guideline compliance; reviews and checks provider’s menus and attendance sheets monthly for reimbursable meals. informs providers regarding menu problems, corrections, and payment deductions; Continually updates client information for desk files and computer database; files paperwork; mails necessary forms, completes follow-up calls and or visits and keeps track of provider training and Criminal record check requirements; Keeps track of provider training needs and provides information of where to find training and provides referrals for other needed assistance; Attends all required meetings for CAA and the community; Performs other job related duties as assigned, keeps track of agency vehicle maintenance and mileage. Position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing policy when mandated.
