Housing - Weatherization - Energy$mart
The Energy$mart Program helps participants to save money on utility bills by replacing windows, repairing heaters and installing new appliances and ultimately, making their homes more energy efficient. Homeowners and renters that qualify for the program can receive up to $6,500 in weatherization measures.
Typical Weatherization Work
- Install carbon monoxide and smoke detectors
- Install insulation
- Insulate water heater
- Replace incandescent bulbs with CFLs
- Seal around doors and windows with weather-stripping and caulk
- Tune up, repair or replace the furnace or heating unit
- Tune up, repair or replace the refrigerator
- Give energy-saving tips that can be done after weatherization work is complete
